School Closure Information and Resources:
--Remember, while schools are closed, students need to be social distancing (that includes play dates…) and with the amount of cases we have in the area, everyone should be self-monitoring for symptoms. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/ and https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/index.html.
--Report Cards are now available on StudentVue and ParentVue for Quarter 3.
Parents and Students,
As we embark on this new and uncharted territory, let me first say that the safety of our students is the main priority at CCSD. As your child's teacher, I encourage you to maintain the recommended “social distance” in order to discourage the spread of all communicable diseases while we are away from school.
The teachers of Garrett have worked to create a Digital Learning Plan to assist student learning away from school. Our plan is to provide students with digital instruction, practice, and effective feedback to continue the learning process from home. This is brand new to us, so I can only ask for your patience and understanding as we dive into the new experience of a virtual classroom.
Earlier today, a link was sent by the school for parents to receive free internet access during this time and I encourage anyone that can use this resource to sign up. The link is included below.
We will provide instruction, practice, and constructive feedback to build student understanding of concepts and skills. We have provided your child with numerous digital learning resources to assist your child in learning from home. These are listed below and in a PDF attachment below.
We are providing a basic framework of instruction. We encourage students to complete assignments and ask for help when needed to be able to continue with their learning.
Please be patient with us. We are all learning as we go in an effort to keep our students connected with school and learning during this time away from school.
Thank you for everything you do! Please see links below for resources (I am updating the resources daily as I find new activities, opportunities, etc.).
